A Salina man was not hurt when a Union Pacific Train he was engineering crashed into an SUV. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was driving east on Ash Street in Junction City. The SUV went left of center and was struck by an oncoming train. According to Captain Paul Forrester, someone used a BB gun to shoot out seven windows and damage a backdoor on a rental home in the 1000 block of N. 8th Street. Russell Man Arrested in Child Porn Case

A Russell man will face federal charges in connection with a child pornography case. According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, special agents arrested 54-year-old  Kenneth D. Herd of Russell, was arrested at his place of employment in Hays. He was arrested for transportation of child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
