Southeast Swept at Beloit

The Southeast of Saline Trojans were swept at Beloit on Tuesday night, with the girls falling 56-40 and the boys losing 59-52.
In the girls contest, Beloit turned a 13-9 first quarter lead into a 30-19 halftime lead. Southeast wasn’t able to make much of a charge in the second half, as Beloit steadily pulled away for the 56-40 win.
Erica Montgomery tallied a double-double for Southeast with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Southeast drops to 8-7 overall and 3-4 in the NCAA.
In the boys game, Southeast hung tough with Beloit in the first half, trailing 18-17 after one, but tying the game at 29 at halftime. However, Beloit turned the game in the third quarter, outscoring Southeast 19-8 to lead 48-37. Southeast fought back in the fourth, getting within five at 55-50, but Beloit held on.
Southeast was led by a double-double from Easton Montgomery with 16 points and 15 rebounds while Ben Stutterheim added 15 points.
