KWU Baseball Lands Two on KCAC Preseason Team

Kansas Wesleyan landed two players on the 2014 KCAC Baseball Preseason All-KCAC team announced on Tuesday afternoon by the KCAC Conference Office.
Senior Omar Sadaoui and sophomore Jordan Rousselle have been named to the team.
Sadaoui was a Second Team All-KCAC selection last year for the Coyotes, hit .295 for Wesleyan last season with 28 hits in 40 games and 19 RBI. Sadaoui also sported a .946 fielding percentage for the Coyotes, splitting time at both middle infield positions.
Rousselle, who earned a KCAC Gold Glove last season as a freshman, batted .277 for the Coyotes with 23 hits that included five doubles and had 12 RBI last season. Rousselle had a 1.000 fielding percentage, not committing any errors in 72 total chances. He had three outfield assists and a role in one double play last season.
Sadaoui and Rousselle join Six returning 2013 All-KCAC First Team members adorn the 2014 Preseason All-KCAC Baseball Team. Highlighting the team are Joe Battaglia (Sterling), Charlie Aznavoorian (Friends), and Kirk Rocha (Tabor) all unanimous selections to the preseason team. Players were selected by vote of KCAC Head Baseball Coaches.
Joe Battaglia, 2013 All-KCAC First Team and KCAC Gold Glove at First Base, was chosen 2013 NAIA All-American Honorable Mention. In 2013, Battaglia lead the league in Runs Batted In (63), Home Runs (10), and Total Bases (120). Battaglia registered the second highest Batting Average (0.407) and Slugging Percentage (0.619). He was also third in Hits (79).
Charlie Aznavoorian earned All-KCAC First Team, Freshman of the Year, and KCAC Gold Glove Honors in 2013. Aznavoorian hit 0.343 last season and his 0.472 On Base Percentage was the second highest in the KCAC.
Kirk Rocha earned 2013 All-KCAC First Team by Batting 0.368 and Slugging 0.557. Rocha scored 48 times and drove in 54 more runs on 68 hits. Rocha ranked seventh or higher in 17 of 24 KCAC offensive categories last season.
All returning 2013 All-KCAC First Team and Second Team performers were nominated for preseason honors. Head Baseball Coaches also had the opportunity to nominate other key members from their teams. The team (listed below) is made up of 12 seniors, two juniors, and two sophomores. Steven Cazares (Sterling) joins Battaglia, Aznavoorian, and Rocha as a unanimous preseason selection.
KWU is scheduled to open the 2014 baseball season on February 11 at Mid America Christian in Oklahoma City.
