Knight Softball Bounces Back for Split

KSAL Sports - April 29, 2014 8:41 am

The Sacred Heart softball team bounced back from a rough first game to take the second game against Beloit, splitting Monday’s doubleheader at Bill Burke Park. The Trojans took game one 13-3, while the Knights won the nightcap 12-5.

In game one, the Knights mustered just five hits. Beloit used 14 hits to score the 13 runs. The Trojans used an eight-run fourth inning to blow the game open and held on for the win by run-rule in five innings.

In game two, the Knights slowed the Trojan offense and picked up the pace at the plate. Megan Stein hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning, and drove in seven runs on three hits. Maeve Martin and Hannah Ochs combined to give up just five hits in the game.

The Knights are 7-9 and 5-5 in the NCAA.
