Stockade Falls at Santa Fe

KSAL Sports - June 5, 2016 7:38 am

The Salina Stockade dropped its first game of the weekend on Saturday, falling 5-2 in a rain-shortened game at Santa Fe.

Santa Fe led 3-0 through four innings when Ray Hernandez hit a two-run home run for the Stockade in the top of the fifth. However, the Fuego scored single runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings before the game was called due to heavy rain.

The Stockade had just three hits in the game.

Gilbert Barrera took the loss, giving up five runs, three earned, on nine hits with two walks and five strikeouts in five and one-third innings.

The Stockade (6-9 Pecos League) wraps up its series in Santa Fe on Sunday.
