Governor Vetoes Bipartisan Tax Cut Package

Governor Laura Kelly is vetoing a bipartisan tax cut package and proposing her own.

Kelly called the legislature’s tax cut package too expensive.

The governor’s 433-million-dollar plan is 90-million-dollars less than the bipartisan package, and it would eliminate the state’s grocery tax by July 1st.

The plan would also retain the current three tax bracket system at lower rates, and lower property taxes.
