Players Getting Second Chance At Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) – Darrian Miller and Dexter McDonald are grateful to have a second chance at Kansas.
Kicked off the football team by coach Charlie Weis, they spent last season at a junior college, and have now worked their way back into the Jayhawks’ program. Miller is sharing time at running back and McDonald has been a key piece of their revamped secondary.
Neither one of them thought much about returning to Kansas when they landed at Butler Community College. But when they proved that they could get back in Weis’ good graces, it made sense for both of them to come home.
They’re a big reason Kansas is off to a 2-1 start. The Jayhawks play number 20 Texas Tech Saturday.
