The Sacred Heart Knights have made the play-offs for the fifth consecutive year with a 35-0 win at Moundridge.

The Sacred Heart Knights have made the play-offs for the fifth consecutive year with a 35-0 win at Moundridge.

Sacred Heart’s cross country teams started the year strong, winning both team titles in Abilene on Thursday.

The Sacred Heart boys were paced by junior Chris Sandquist’s individual title, taking the race in 18:09. Stratton Brown and Joshua Bergkamp finished third and fourth in the race. Rayne Schmidtberger was 12th and Callum Grevas was 17th to round out team scoring. The Knights had an 18th-place finish from Spencer Roberts and 20th-place finish from Zach Gaskill.

The Sacred Heart girls were led by Alex Elmore’s second-place finish. Kate Schieferecke was third, while Sara Vandervoort was 6th. Kira Rutherford finished 11th and Tracie Thibault was 13th to round out team scoring for the Knights. Grace Worcester was 14th, Clare Riordan was 17th and Ingrid Herrenbruck was 20th for the Knights.
