Mustangs Win Own Tennis Invite

The Salina Central boys tennis team picked up the team title at its own invitational on Tuesday.
The Mustangs racked up 62 points to take the title over Newton. The Railers were second with 48 points.
Jeffrey Michel and Josh Claybaugh won the doubles championship, going 4-0 on the day. Zachary Hampton and J.D. McHenry were 3-1 for the day and placed fifth. Jack Weiner was second in singles at 3-1, while Zach Hilbig was sixth at 2-2.
The Sacred Heart boys placed sixth in the event, and were led by singles champion Stratton Brown. Brown defeated Weiner 8-2 for the title and finished 4-0.
The Salina South boys were seventh as a team. Matt Berneking and Pierce Carey were 3-1 to finish third in doubles, while Kevin Kraus and Zach Koshgarian were 2-2.
