Dave Dallas, head football coach at Kansas Wesleyan University, has resigned from his position.

“My family and I have enjoyed being a part of the Kansas Wesleyan University family and the Salina community,” said Dallas. “I had the honor of coaching thousands of young men, including my three sons, during my time. I gave everything I had to develop the football program. I wish the best to the program in the future.”

Dallas recorded 94 victories in 17 seasons at Wesleyan and 132 in his 25-year coaching career that included eight years at fellow KCAC member Ottawa University. During his career at Wesleyan, Dallas coached over 250 All-KCAC players, 48 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes, 14 NAIA All-Americans, and eight players that earned individual honors from the KCAC. He was named as the KCAC Coach of the Year in 2001 after leading the Coyotes to their first KCAC Championship in 19 years that season.

“We are thankful for Coach Dallas’ many contributions and his long-standing commitment to the university and to the athletic department,” said Mike Hermann, Director of Athletics. “He has coached and mentored many student-athletes over the past 17 years, and he has left our program in a strong position to move forward. We wish Dave well in future endeavors.”

A national search for Dallas’ successor will begin immediately.
