KWU Men’s Golf Second in Kansas City

The Kansas Wesleyan Men’s Golf team played to a second place finish in the Park University Virginia McCoy Intercollegiate Golf Tournament held at The Deuce at the National Golf Club of Kansas City on Monday and Tuesday.
Wesleyan was led by Tyler Clark (SO/Wichita, Kan.), who finished tied for third in the tournament, shooting a total score of 158 (80-78), tying with Hannibal-LaGrange’s Thomas Brennan. Joel Weis (JR/Goodland, Kan.) shot a 162 (80-82) to tie for sixth, Clinton Moore(JR/Ottawa, Kan.) finished ninth with a 168 (84-84), Cameron Staples (FR/Oakley, Kan.) tied for 12th with a 178 (91-87), Tyler Jones(SO/Goodland, Kan.) finished 14th with a 179 (92-87) and Tanner Jones (FR/Goodland, Kan.) finished 18th with a 190 (90-100).
The Coyotes were 12 shots better than fellow KCAC member Ottawa in the team standings, but Hannibal-LaGrange ran away with the team title with a team score of 620, 45 shots better than Wesleyan.
Next up for the Coyotes will be the Southwestern Spring Invitational at the Winfield Country Club in Winfield.
