A Haysville gas station is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Vickers Petroleum Service Station at 140 North Main Street was added to the register in August. The station, which was built in 1954, was the first service station in the country to feature a batwing design.

A group of Kansas prison inmates is raising money for a Wichita youth baseball league. Inmates at the El Dorado Correctional Facility raised two-thousand-dollars for League 42 through selling diners to Cracker Barrel. Officials say the inmates began their fundraising effort after watching a video about how League 42 serves Wichita area children.
