A Kansas zoo is vaccinating its animals against COVID-19. Officials at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita say that its big cats and great apes are getting the Zoetis vaccine. The zoo is expected to receive the vaccine in October, and vaccinations will be given to animals who have the highest risk of contracting the virus.

A man is dead following a drowning in Montgomery County. Authorities say Thomas Crittenden of Independence jumped from a boat at Elk City Lake State Park on Friday evening and never resurfaced. Crittenden's body was recovered from the lake on Saturday.
