The Kansas House of Representatives is mourning the loss of one their own. Democratic State Representative Gail Finney of Wichita died on Saturday. The 63-year-old had been recovering from a recent kidney transplant. Finney had served in the Kansas House of Representatives since 2009, and her current term was set to end in January 2023.

A drowning at a Kansas lake is under investigation. The Miami County Sheriff's Office says that a jet ski rider was found unresponsive in the water near the marina at Hillsdale Lake yesterday. The victim died later at the hospital.
