The Wichita Machinists Union is accepting a contract extension with Spirit AeroSystems. Local Lodge 839 approved the contract yesterday as nearly 70-percent of its members voted in favor of the three-year deal. The vote comes after Spirit AeroSystems laid off 28-hundred employees earlier this month due to a halt in production of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
