Some Kansas residents who file for unemployment will have to take part in a new program.

Under the My Reemployment Plan, the Kansas Department of Commerce will contact eligible people about enrolling in the program, and those who refuse may be denied benefits.

To be eligible, unemployed people who receive benefits must not have a return to work date or be enrolled in a different job counseling program.
