An elderly woman is found dead in Southwest Kansas in the area of the Cowley County Community of Dexter.

The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas City Fire-EMS were called early Tuesday morning after the victim had left her home without wearing appropriate winter clothing. The woman was found a short time later close to the residence.

The incident is under investigation.
