Workplace Shooting Settlement

A settlement is reached in a lawsuit connected with a deadly workplace shooting in Hesston.

The insurance company for Newton-based A Pawn Shop will pay a two-million-dollar settlement to some of the victims of 2016 shooting at Excel Industries and their families.

The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence filed the lawsuit against the pawn shop who sold guns involved in the shooting to a woman who purchased them on behalf of suspect Cedric Ford.

Ford shot and killed three people and wounded 14 others before he was shot and killed by Hesston police.
