Parts of Kansas are dealing with another round of winter weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for north-central Kansas and a Blizzard Warning for northwestern Kansas until this evening.
Much of the northern part of the state could see ice, freezing drizzle and light snow. Officials are warning about slick road conditions in the impacted areas.
Roads in the Salina area were becoming slick my mid-morning. Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Ben Gardner, via social media, reported that he was nearly hit by a sliding truck while he was en-route to work a crash. Gardner reported via twitter “sometimes it’s not how you drive but it’s how other motorists drive. I just about got taken out moments ago if it wasn’t for driving defensively.”
The near crash happened in McPherson County on Smoky Valley Road near Lindsborg. Gardner was headed to a crash on Interstate 135.
