Police say that a white male described as short, with medium brown hair and tattoos on his forearms purchased a $25 gift certificate from The Strand Beauty Salon, 214 W. Walnut, with a counterfeit $100 bill – and walked out with $75 in change Tuesday at about 11:25am.

Police say a similar crime occurred about a half hour later at Brooks Tan, 1839 S. 9th, when a suspect described as a 5-foot-5-inch white male, early to mid 20’s, with buzzed hair purchased a $25 gift certificate with a counterfeit $100 bill and left with $75 in cash from the store.

The man was caught on video at Brooks Tan.
