Smoky Valley sweeps Hoisington

In Girls action the Vikings found an early lead and led after 1 quarter 8-4 but Hoisington turned the tables and took an 18-14 lead at the half. The Cardinals then scored the first point of the third quarter only to see the Vikings go on an 18-0 run through the third quarter and into the 4h quarter only allowing that one free throw to take a 32-19 with 2:45 left to go in the 4th. Hoisington then made it interesting putting together an 8-0 run of their own to close the gap to 32-27 but the Vikings have now won 2 in a row to up their record to 2-6, and ready to take on the #1 seed SE of Saline Monday in Sterling.

In Guys action Hoisington led 10-9 and 18-16 at the half. However, the Vikings outscored the Cardinals 15-8 in the 3rd quarter and held on to win 49-43 to improve to 4-4 on the year. Lane Schrag and Cade Schneider led the Vikings with 12 points each followed by Blake Heble with 10. Vikings will be in action Monday at Sterling as well to face the Lyons Lions.
