Slick Roads Possible Today

Forecasters warn of possible weather-related travel issues today.

According to the National Weather Service, area of freezing drizzle will impact the area this morning, especially south central and southeast Kansas. Scattered showers with freezing rain will be possible later today and tonight across southeast Kansas where higher ice accumulations are expected. Freezing drizzle will change to light snow before ending late tonight in central Kansas. However, only a trace to a few tenths of an inch of snow is expected.

Icy conditions will create travel difficulties through tonight with the greatest impacts expected across parts of south central and southeast Kansas. Impacts may extend to isolated power outages where the greatest ice accumulations occur.
