Salina Squatters Arrested

A man and a woman were arrested for living in a Salina rental property – rent free.

According to Police Detective Sergeant David Villanueva, the property owner alerted officers to a couple who were staying at home in the 200 block of S. 9th Street without a contract or permission.

Police entered the home at 10am on Wednesday, found the two sleeping on an air mattress and arrested 36-year-old Marilyn Sidener and 27-year-old L’Rico Faudel and charged both with trespass. The woman told officers they found the deal through a Craigslist ad.

Police say Sidener will face additional charges in the case after she allegedly struggled with an officer while being placed into custody, bending the officers body worn camera.

Police also found her in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia.
