Pat Roberts is retiring from the U.S. Senate at the end of his current term.

Kansas’ senior senator announced Friday that he will not seek another term in 2020. The 82-year-old Republican was first elected to the Senate in 1996 after serving 16 years in the U.S. House representing Kansas’ First Congressional District.
