Much Talent at KWU International Festival Concerto/Aria Competition

The first annual Kansas Wesleyan University International Festival Concerto/Aria Competition attracted over a dozen talented competitors.

According to KWU the group of 13 assembled at Christ Cathedral. Each competed for an opportunity to perform during the International Music Festival with the KWU Festival Orchestra.

A panel of 3 distinguished judges including Julie Bees (Wichita State UniversityPiano Professor), Genaro Mendez (University of Kansas Voice Professor) and Matt Means (Fort Hays State University String Professor), were a part of the event.

The winners concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. March 27 on the Wesleyan campus.

Winners are: Precollege, Branden Rectenwald & Joseph Gogadi, Cello and Landon Wilson, Piano. Colligate: Brianna Anderson, Soprano, Stephine Gomez, Soprano, Alicia Mora, Violin, Morgan Parker, Marimba and Joseph Wu, Piano.
