A Salina man is facing two charges after he allegedly beat his girlfriend and her teenage brother.

Police Capt. Paul Forrester tells KSAL News that the fight occurred between 10 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. at a residence in the 900 block on Greeley on Tuesday night.

According to the victims, 22-year-old Austin Warford was in the middle of an argument with his 19-year-old girlfriend when he kicked the woman in her knee. Warford then proceeded to punch the woman multiple times and then grabbed her from behind and strangled her.

The woman’s 14-year-old brother heard the commotion from the back of the home and confronted Warford. Warford then pinned the boy on the floor, punching him multiple times before stomping the boy in the head with his boot.

Warford left the residence and was later spotted by authorities before being arrested. He faces an aggravated battery charge and an another battery charge.

Both the woman and her brother went to the hospital to be checked out for their injuries. The boy complained of pain to the left side of his face and swelling near his jaw. The woman had a laseration to her lower lip, swelling above her left eye and pain in her stomach.
