A Salina man is arrested after shots are fired into the air.

According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, officers were called to an apartment at 737 Fairdale early Monday morning just after 3:15am.

Lt. Siemsen tells KSAL News that police received several calls about shots being fired in the area.

Officers found four spent shell casings from a small caliber handgun outside the apartment and attempted to contact the residents inside. After a short time, a teen answered the door but two adults inside refused to come out.

Police sprayed a chemical agent into the apartment, prompting a man and a woman to emerge from inside.

Police arrested 35-year-old Jeffrey Boswell on multiple charges that include unlawful discharge of a firearm and battery of a law enforcement officer. SPD did not release any details of why the man was firing the gun.

No one was injured.
