Highway to Heaven at Leadsled

Charles Clifton drives his ’38 Chevy Coupe for fun – but his passion is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ at car shows, “Everybody’s going somewhere and they need to know where they’re going to end up,” he said.

Clifton travels to a couple of events each year with a group of friends who are part of the Christian Rods and Customs Club from Oklahoma City.

The organization has chapters nationwide and raises money for children and families with financial struggles.

Charles’s wife, Glenda says part of their mission during a hot day in Salina’s Oakdale Park is handing out free water, “We have our water ministry to help the people that are tired and weary and need a cool drink of water,” she said.

On Sunday morning the group will be leading a worship service on the Eric Stien Stage.

Sunday’s speaker Floyd Duttton tells KSAL New he enjoys connecting with people he’s met at car rallies from California to Kansas, “Our old cars are the means of our ministry,” he said.

“And if the people come and look at the old cars we’ll tell them about Christ.”

The KKOA Church Service will be held on the main stage in Oakdale Park at 10am Sunday morning, July 26th.

The Christian Rods and Customs Club will present live music and a spiritual message for everyone in attendance.

“It’s come as you are and join us,” Dutton said.
