Laura Kelly isn’t wasting any time differentiating herself from her conservative predecessors.

On Thursday, the Kansas governor-elect said she and her staff are looking at ways to block enforcement of a state adoption law that provides legal cover for adoption agencies that cite their religious beliefs as cause to deny adoption in certain cases.

The conflict reportedly stems from cases where agencies refused to place children in LGBT foster homes.
