Final Superintendent Candidate to Interview

The fourth of four candidates vying to be the next superintendent at USD 305 schools is in Salina. Darrel Kohlman will be interviewing for the position of superintendent today.

Kohlman is the fourth and last finalist that the board will interview. Finalists were selected for interview based on their fit with desired characteristics that were developed with input from focus groups and a community survey.

Kohlman has a total of 30 years in public education, currently superintendent in Nemaha Central Schools USD 115. He has served 11 years as superintendent including serving as superintendent/principal in Mullinville USD 424. Kohlman was a preschool-grade 12 principal for 7 years at Bucklin USD 459 and prior to that taught secondary science, reading, physical education and coached for 12 years at Hillsboro USD 410 and Twin Valley USD 240.

Dinner and formal interview (during executive session) will be held at the Holiday Inn, 3145 9th St. No official action will take place.
