No One Hurt In Dramatic Three-Vehicle Crash

There were no serious injuries in a  three-vehicle crash that briefly closed a major intersection in Salina Saturday afternoon.

Master Patrol Officer Rande Repp told KSAL News at the scene that the crash involved three vehicles, an SUV and two pickup trucks.

Repp says that 35-year-old Atanacia Ortega was headed south on Broadway in a Honda Pilot SUV. She ran a red light, and crashed into a pickup truck that was headed west on Crawford Street, that was driven by 51-year-old Richard Sunderlin of Salina. The truck was knocked onto its side. A second pickup, driven by 35-year-old Jeffrey Stevens of Ellsworth, was then hit.

EMS responded, but there were no serious injuries, and no one was transported to the hospital.

Everyone involved was buckled up.

Repp says that once his investigation into the crash is complete Ortega will probably be cited for running a red light.
