Bethany College Criminal Justice students recently completed a travel course to study with the police departments of Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV.

During the course, Bethany students arrived in Phoenix to learn about the Maricopa County jail facilities and the Phoenix Police Department’s air support unit.

After several days in Phoenix the class went to Las Vegas to meet with a retired Las Vegas crime scene investigator upon whom the popular television series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigations” is based.  Students also stayed at the Mandalay Bay hotel; the hotel from which gunfire erupted during the tragic Route 91 Music Festival in 2017.

Students established personal contacts with experts in the field of criminal justice during the course and several are interested in returning to these agencies in the future to complete an internship.
