New Saturday Bus Route to Rolling Hills Zoo Begins This Week

Beginning this Saturday, Salina CityGo buses will be providing transportation to and from Rolling Hills Zoo.

According to the zoo, the special “Zoo Run” will pick up at the main transfer station located at Walnut Avenue and 7th Street at 10:00 a.m. and noon. Return runs will pick up from the Zoo at 10:15 a.m., 12:15, and 3:15 p.m.

A special daily Zoo Pass can be purchased for $2. Upon presentation of the daily Zoo Pass, visitors will receive $2 off admission to Rolling Hills Zoo for that day.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to provide this service in co-operation with CityGo”, said Rolling Hills Zoo Director, Robert Jenkins, “the Zoo has been discussing the need for something like this for a number of years”. Toward the end of June, Rolling Hills Zoo and OCCK will determine how they will move forward with the fixed run program.

The Zoo Daily Pass can be purchased anywhere in the city with transfers to the main station, allowing city-wide access to the bus service. The Zoo Pass is not included in the standard Monthly Pass. Drop off and pickup location at Rolling Hills Zoo is located at the east entrance to the Wildlife Museum.

The new zoo fixed run begins this Saturday and will continue each Saturday in the month of June as a trial.
