A teen was hit and killed after getting out of a disabled vehicle along the Kansas Turnpike.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Shyann Clark from Atlanta, Kansas, was running across the road from a disabled vehicle when she was struck by a Chevrolet van.

Clark suffered fatal injuries. No one in the van was hurt.

The incident Friday night around 8:15 along the Kansas Turnpike on Interstate 35 in Sumner county.

The family says Shyann had just started college. A Go Fund Me Account has been established to help with funeral expenses.
