Dog Deaths Prompt Arrest

A Texas woman is facing charges in connection with the death of a couple of dogs.

According to Salina Police, 20-year-old ShaQuilla Weaver was arrested on a warrant. The warrant was in relation to two possibly pit bulls, being dumped in the county, on May 14th.

The Sheriff’s Department took this initial call of the deceased dogs. The dogs were located in the 800 block of N. Fairchilds.

The police department then received information the dogs had been left in a vehicle in the 1400 block of W. Cloud around the beginning of May. It was believed the dogs succumbed due to heat from being in the vehicle and then their bodies were dumped in the county.

The investigation identified as the dogs being in the care of Weaver, so warrants were requested for the joint Sheriff’s Office, Police Department investigation. She was arrested on this by the Sheriff’s Office for the warrant.
