Law enforcement shot and killed a suspect following a pursuit in North Salina Monday evening.

According to Salina Police, at 4:55 officers attempted to stop a subject and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the suspect attempted to hit a Saline County Deputy.

When the pursuit ended, the suspect began firing at officers. The officers returned fire and the suspect was shot.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

No law enforcement officers were injured.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation was contacted and are currently investigating the incident.

ORIGINAL: Multiple agencies including Salina Police, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kansas Highway Patrol are on the scene in a north Salina neighborhood where shots were fired following a pursuit.

At least one person was shot.

The incident occurred at around 5:00 Monday evening in the area of North 12th Street and West Pacific Avenue.
