Bill Self will return to Kansas for his 24th season as head coach.
The Hall of Famer left the status of his return to coaching uncertain, after the Jayhawks loss to St. John’s in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Self specified that any consideration of stepping away was tied to his health and not basketball. Now after much thought, he’s decided his journey is not over.
In a statement released Wednesday, Self said,
“Jayhawk Nation, with renewed clarity and the ongoing support from our administration, I remain focused and committed to Kansas Basketball competing for a National Championship. I look forward to seeing and hearing the best fans in college basketball next season at Allen Fieldhouse.”
