A couple of men from Maryland were arrested on Thursday evening with over eight pounds of marijuana in their vehicle.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that a deputy on patrol noticed a 2016 Chevy Malibu leave the Flying J Travel Center, 2250 N. Ohio without its headlights on.

A traffic stop led to the discovery of just over 8-pounds of marijuana wrapped in vacuum sealed bags inside the car.

Deputies also seized $6,600 in cash that was bundled in $100 bills and arrested 26-year-old Gabriel Brown and 24-year-old Melvin McCall, both of Glen Burnie, MD.

The two are now facing charges that could include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

The traffic stop was made Thursday night on North Ohio near the I-70 ramp at 9:19pm.
