Fireworks are suspected to be the cause of a juvenile’s death in western Kansas.

According to the Colby Police Department, Thursday evening at around 7:30 first responders were to sent to the report of a juvenile who was severely injured possibly due to a firework.

The juvenile was transported to a hospital, where he died.

The Kansas State Fire Marshall’s Office is assisting in an investigation into the incident.
