Wrongful Conviction Legislation Proposed

Kansas could soon provide compensation to wrongly convicted people.

Under a state senate proposal, wrongfully convicted people would receive 80-thousand-dollars for every year spent in prison.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will continue its discussion of the bill on Monday.
