Woman Treated after Attack

Police were flagged down on the street by a woman and her mother after an alleged assault on Friday morning.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that the female in her 20’s ran out of a residence in the 600 block of of S. 9th after a male acquaintance allegedly tried to strangle her during an argument.

Police arrested 27-year-old Ernest J. Outland of Salina on charges that could include aggravated battery and kidnapping.

Police say the woman had bruises and scratches on her face and was treated and released from the hospital.
