Cracked, Soaked Equipment Blamed in Power Outage

Work crews from Evergy have restored power to a number of homes in Ottawa County after a wide spread outage was first reported around 7am.

A spokesperson with Evergy tells KSAL News that about 1,600 residents in Ottawa County were without power on Tuesday after some cracked equipment became soaked in the rain and failed.

Crews located the problem and replaced the hardware, restoring power to their customers around 10am.

Work crews from Evergy are in the process of restoring power to a number of homes in Ottawa County after a wide spread outage was first reported around 7am.

A spokesperson with Evergy tells KSAL News that some 1,600 residents in Ottawa County remain without power.

So far no cause of the outage has been reported.
