Wichita Schools Change Grading System

MetroSourceAugust 27, 2019
Some states are pushing back against uniform benchmarks for reading, writing and math that have been fully adopted in most states and are being widely put in place this school year.

Kansas’ largest school district is changing its grading system.

The Wichita Public School District has adopted a new system that grades students on a zero to four scale.

Zero is failing while Four is advanced.

The Standards-Referenced Grading system will be used for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
