Weather Will Not Deter Saturday Clean-Up

A planned community cleanup event in Salina on Saturday will not be deterred by the weather.

According to the Volunteer Connection, Saturday morning’s weather may be ‘iffy,’ but Spring Spruce-Up activities are certain to take place, regardless of the weather.

Depending on the amount of rain received and resulting environmental conditions, some of the outdoor projects may still be accomplished; in any case, an indoor project that can accommodate an unlimited number of volunteers has been assured.

Whether pre-registered or not, volunteers are encouraged to report to Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, 304 W. Grand, at 7:30 a.m. for a pancake breakfast and to select their service activity for the morning. Site supervisors will give a brief introduction to the tasks at their venue.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes, long-sleeved shirts and pants and be prepared to get dirty, depending on their chosen work site.
