Flooding concerns at a Salina park have pushed the annual “Fishing with a Cop” event back another month.

Police Sgt. Brent Rupert tells KSAL News that due to flooding concerns at Lakewood Park, the event that was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 1, has been pushed back to Saturday, July 6.

With the event being pushed to the weekend of 4th of July, it is asked that any kids who won’t be able to attend call the Salina Parks & Recreation Department. There is a waiting list of other kids who would like to attend.

The 5th annual “Fishing with a Cop” on July 6 will still be held at Lakewood Park.
