U.S. Marshal Kills Suspect in Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) – Police say an officer with the U.S. Marshals Service has fatally shot a fugitive while serving a felony warrant in Topeka.

The shooting happened Monday afternoon inside a house just northwest of the city’s downtown. Police say the white 45-years-old man who was shot was declared dead inside the home.

Topeka police Cpt. Ash Kaboudan said in a news release that police are leading the investigation, and the Shawnee County district attorney’s office has been notified of the shooting.

Topeka police Major Darin Scott said everyone involved in the shooting is being interviewed.
