Truck Crashes on Rain Slicked Road

A Salina man was transported to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a single vehicle crash on a rain-slicked road.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 27-year-old Joshua Spears of Salina was driving a 2007 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. As he was merging on to southbound Interstate 135 from westbound Interstate 70 he lost control on the wet pavement. The truck struck aconcrete bridge rail over Interstate 70 and came to rest in the southbound lanes of Interstate 135.

Spears, who was buckled up, was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with a suspected minor injury.

The crash happened Tuesday afternoon 3 miles north of Salina at the Interstate 135 Interstate 70 junction at around 4:15.
