KSAL StaffMarch 23, 2016

Police are looking for a thief who stole a couple of large rubber mats that are used as part of a Salina carriage ride.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney says that two 4 foot by 6 foot rubber mats were stolen from along the curb-line in the 100 Block of West Walnut on March 9th between 6:30 and 6:45 in the evening.

A man in a white pickup truck pulled up, got out, threw the mats in back, and drove off. He is described as a white male between the age of 35 – 40, wearing a red flannel shirt and work boots.

The mats belong to Tonya Creek of Abilene. The are used for her horse Iris to stand on while waiting, and while loading and unloading carriage rides.

Total loss is $500.
