KSAL StaffJanuary 15, 2016

A long-time Saline County Sheriff Deputy plans to run for Sheriff. Captain Roger Soldan announced late Friday afternoon that he intends to run for for the office.

Soldan has been with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office for 28 years.

Soldan started his career in the juvenile detention center at the age of 21. During his career he has served as a corrections officer, patrol deputy, traffic safety officer, criminal investigator, sergeant, lieutenant,  and jail administrator. Soldan currently is a captain and is the commander of the operations and investigation division.

Soldan says that he strives to work with the county to address jail inmate population issues and budget issues. His primary focus would be to provide Saline County with “progressive law enforcement”.

Current sheriff Glen Kochanowski announced Friday morning that he will not run for reelection.
