A small earthquake shook the Wilson Lake area on Thursday,

According to the U.S. Geological Survey the quake happened at 2:02 PM. It was centered south of Wilson Lake in a field near Lucas Road and Avenue B. The earthquake measured 2.8 in magnitude.

Earthquakes of this magnitude, ranging between 2.5 and 5.4, are often felt but only cause minor damage.

That area has experienced several small earthquakes recently, recording six in a two-week span.
